While the American launch of the Nintendo has been and gone, we on the other side of the world are still waiting for the Wii, and could be waiting for a while longer than expected. The shipment of Wii consoles to Australia seems it might be short stacked for the initial release date.

One online retailer who we have been in touch with has confirmed they have sold all of their initial Wii allocation, but still continue to sell pre-orders. How they plan to deal with all these additional pre-orders who knows, but I know I would not be happy to find my pre-order would not in fact be filled on launch date.

We can only help that this online retailer has drawn the short straw, and that larger street retailers such as Target and Toys ‘r’ Us will have at least enough stock to deal with all their pre-orders, and hopefully a few extra for eager gamers.
